Avery Parker has been a music lover his entire life. As a small boy he would go from listening to Beatles and Rolling Stone's albums with his mother to listening to Mozart symphonies & Bach's Brandenburg concertos with his father. Both his parents are classically trained musicians, his father even playing jazz piano and singing opera professionally. Ironically, Parker has no formal musical training as he refused lessons as a boy.
He was first introduced to the dance music scene in 1999 when a friend dragged him to a warehouse party in Oakland, Ca. At the time he was competing on a national level as a NCAA collegiate track and field athlete. He fell in love with the energy and emotion in the music. The fast driving beats, high energy, and emotional melodies seemed a perfect fit for race day preparations. He was instantly hooked on the early cyber-trance sound being played/produced by the San Francisco Bay Area's top DJ's. He still sites Mars & Mystre as his biggest influences in the genre.
Parker started producing in 2007 with Reason 3 and a basic laptop computer. Later that same year he and dt (cryophonik) met through an online posting and started working together, finishing their first track together in Dec 2007. Parker & cryophonik have several current and upcoming releases under the names Tidal Forces & Rising Tides. Parker's musical influences range from Baroque era composers like Pachelbel, to classic rock groups like Led Zeppelin, to 80's pop, to 90's synth pop groups like Anything Box, to cyber-trance pioneers Mars & Mystre. Parker's productions have led to many requests for him to preform live DJ sets. As a result he played dozens of gigs to thousands of people in 2009, including a gig with Andy Moor (#15 DJ in the world), as well as live set in Berkeley, Ca with Aliciya Angel and Avonlea Montague preforming the the vocals to their tracks live. Outside of Music production and DJing Parker's interests include running, scuba diving, personal development, and becoming a better human being.
